The member federations appoint the Board Members to govern the International Golf Federation. The IGF Board is currently composed of 10 members who convene regularly.

The IGF Board maintains a strategic focus in its governance of golf. However, the responsibility for implementing the strategic plan and managing International Golf Federation’s operating activities rests with the Executive Director.

IGF Board

The Executive Director leads the Executive Office. This supports the business on all strategic projects, manages our financial accounts, works on all legal matters and is responsible for recruitment, payroll, and business administration. Together with the Functional Leads and International Golf Federation staff, the Executive Director’s role is to work closely with all of golf’s stakeholders to provide effective management and leadership for international golf. The Executive Director reports to the IGF Board.

IGF Committees

The delivery of the IGF Strategic Business Plan is supported by a committee-based approach, with the Executive Director serving as an ex-officio member of all committees. These committees provide oversight, ensure good governance, and support the achievement of the IGF’s Strategic Outcomes.

Why committees are used

The IGF uses this Committee-based approach to help:

  • provide effective governance and decision-making;
  • guide the delivery of key initiatives and projects; and
  • support the fulfilment of on-going business activities set out in the IGF Strategic Business Plan;

What the committees do

While the focus of each committee differs, relevant to their area of expertise, committees typically:

  • set direction and provide oversight to their respective functional area;
  • support coordination across initiatives and ongoing activities;
  • promote consistency with agreed ways of working; and
  • provide informed recommendations where required.

Delivery Partners and resourcing

IGF Delivery Partners provide the necessary resources and expertise to implement the key initiatives, ensuring a practical connection between governance, implementation, and ongoing improvement. This committee-based approach enhances transparency, enables timely decisions, and ensures that strategic priorities lead to measurable progress.
